Al Weed released his second television ad, which began airing Friday, October 6th.
"I am proud of my record, and I am firm in my beliefs. This ad shows the perspective I will take to Washington. It is time for a change, and I will work hard to get our country back on the right track," Weed said.
The ad highlights Weed's record as a farmer and a soldier. He still works on his family farm, Mountain Cove Vineyards, which he has owned for 33 years. He fought as a Green Beret in Vietnam and retired from the military after 42 years. Today Al's son, Al Weed III, is serving our country as an Army Surgeon on his second tour in Baghdad.
The ad outlines Weed's vision. He promises to use his agricultural experience and knowledge and work for a biofuels industry in Virginia. He promises to stand up as a veteran and work to get our soldiers out of Iraq. Very few veterans are serving in Congress, and Weed will bring a vital perspective of one who has been in combat, and one who has a child serving today.
